Always early in the morning, I am the busiest! I had to check my emails, conduct phone interviews. So I was in a middle of a multi-task when a candidate called the hotline asking for a reschedule of his interview. I heard him say, “My grandfather died.”
So I told him, “I’ll see what I can do but I have to talk to your recruiter first.” I paused and said, “I will be calling you back in 5 minutes.”
After the candidate’s conversation, I said to his recruiter. “Please contact to reschedule this candidate because his grandfather died.”
So the candidate’s recruiter said with a very said voice, “I am so sorry to hear that your grandfather passed away.”
Before he was able to proceed, the candidate interrupted, “My father didn’t die yet he is in a critical condition.”
