I was enamored with the adverts for CamSur. Out of impulse, The Habit bought tickets for two. I swore I am never coming back there any time soon. (More details on how to go there later.)
On our first night at CWC, I was looking at the price list of their activities. Curious, I inquired at the receptionist.
M: Oh, meron palang bayad yung pool.
R: Meron po ma’am.
M: I see.
R: Pwera na lang kung naka-stay kayo sa Villa del Rey.
M: I think we are staying in Villa del Rey.
R: Di po kayo naka stay ‘don.
M: I’m not sure though but I think we are staying there.
R: Di nga kayo naka-stay ‘don.
M: But I think we are.
The receptionist was kinda irritated with the verbal volleyball.
R: Ma’am, ‘di po kayo naka stay sa Villa del Rey. P5000 a night po ‘don. Mahal kasi ‘don.
If it was any consolation, she said it in a subtle manner.
I was too embarrassed for myself since I haven’t been humiliated for the longest time. (The last time I remembered was studying in a Chinese school.)
I went back to the habit and borrowed our keys. The keys noted, ‘Villa del Rey’.
